Water, Sanitation and Infrastructure

Project Overview:

  • To facilitate access to clean water through innovative solutions such as rainwater harvesting systems and solar powered boreholes among others.
  • To facilitate reduction in waste generation while enhancing proper waste disposal practices in order to minimize environmental impact associated with waste.
  • To construct new and rehabilitate existing Islamic prayer places, mosques, Islamic centers and ablution blocks.
  • To support affordable housing solutions that ensure safe and secure place to live thus restoring dignity and selfworth.

Projects under this thematic area include:

  • Water harvesting Solutions
  • Bore hole construction
  • Infrastructure construction of mosques, prayer sheds, ablution blocks and distribution of prayer mats.
  • Housing Solutions.

Achievements Since Inception include:

  • Procured and installed five 10,000 liters water  tanks to aid underground water pumping using Solar pumps and manual borehole to 5 rural communities with over 30,000 beneficiaries
  • Installed rainwater harvesting systems in several community schools and mosques targeting over 1000 direct beneficiaries
  • Distributed over 100 prayer mats to various mosques across the country
  • Participated in the construction of schools, mosques, ablution blocks (toilets and washrooms), classroom blocks and farmhouses for various needy communities.
  • Provided housing and shelter support through rent payments to needy individuals and families including a family with autistic children, elderly ladies, single parents and orphans
